Ferndale Youth Assistance provides scholarships for students living withhin the Ferndale School District to participate in skill building and enrichment opportunities in the community (i.e. swim classes, karate, baseball, dance classes, music lessons, etc). We believe that our youth greatly benefit from being involved in community activities. Involvement in extracurricular activities can help children gain self-confidence and develop social skills.

Scholarship applications are available in the Ferndale Youth Assistance office, which is located in Ferndale High School. Eligibility is based on financial need, and each request is reviewed by a committee. Families are limited to one scholarship per child and are expected to contribute a small amount towards the cost of the activity/class.

If you have any questions about student enrichment/skillbuilding requests, or if you are interested in becoming a volunteer on this committee, please contact Heather Coleman at hcoleman@ferndaleschools.org
