Ferndale Youth Assistance provides counseling services in a confidential, voluntary, individual and family setting. This service is provided free of charge by our professional staff to the youth and families residing in the Ferndale School District. Parents, friends, school, police, outside agencies and concerned citizens may make referrals for services. Our services are short-term, but we are able to address specific issues facing each student and family. Please call our office to initiate services or e-mail our caseworker, Robin Brown-Green, at greenr@oakgov.com

Typical reasons for a referral are:

  • Family related issues (i.e. divorce, separation, loss of a loved one)
  • Social adjustment problems (i.e. anger management issues, difficulties relating to peers and/or accepting authority)
  • School truancy and/or school incorrigibility
  • Home truancy and/or home incorrigibility
  • Retail fraud/shoplifting
  • Violations of local ordinances
  • Alcohol & other drug abuse
  • Larceny
  • Vandalism
  • Assault
